The competition is organized on the initiative of educational teams. They appoint a Kangaroo correspondent in the school to receive all the mail sent by Éditions du Kangourou. Entries to the competition are made through a teacher. Entries can be made online or by post.
How does the test work?
The test lasts 50 minutes, between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m., and takes place under the supervision of a teacher or member of the educational team, who ensures that it takes place regularly. The test consists of a multiple-choice questionnaire of 24 questions (16 questions for CE2) of increasing difficulty. For each question, five answers are proposed: there is only one correct answer. The test is individual and calculator-free.
There are six separate subjects for :
CE2, CM1 and CM2
sixth and fifth
fourth and third
career path
general and technical high school, except for mathematics in the first and last years of high school
first and final year specializing in mathematics
Results and ranking
The results are ranked nationally. The solutions and results are published on the Kangaroo Maths website after the end of the competition in Europe or worldwide. The rankings are sent by post to participating schools and educational establishments.
The Koala of mathematics for CP and CE1 classes
The Koala Game is a game for CP and CE1 classes. It’s not a competition: there are no national rankings or special answer sheets. Entries can be made using the same postal or online forms as for the Kangaroo competition.
